Babe

Babe is a White Horn pig; a breed commonly used in animal agriculture for their rapid growth and large size. He arrived at Lucky Stars as a tiny piglet, and thankfully, his tail and tusks were still intact. In the industry, these are usually removed at birth without pain relief, so Babe was one of the lucky ones.

With his charismatic, cheeky personality, Babe has won the hearts of countless visitors and volunteers. He loves a good belly rub, a muddy wallow, and greeting anyone who wanders past his paddock.

Sadly, Babe lives with arthritis, a common condition in breeds like his that have been genetically engineered to grow fast and grow big. But with daily medication, gentle movement, and hydrotherapy in his beloved wallow, we’re helping him manage his condition while enjoying a happy, comfortable life.

By sponsoring Babe, you’re supporting a beautiful soul who reminds everyone that compassion can transform even the toughest stories into hopeful ones. 🐷💛
